With previous owners Gary Kyriacou and Tony Burke enjoying their retirement, 2022 is the time to welcome the new owners of Telstra Business Technology Centre (TBTC) Victoria East and TBTC Melbourne South. Gareth Wyatt, Varun Kumar, Ryan Kovacs, and Paril Hargovan have taken on the responsibility, and though they’re new owners, they’re already very familiar with the business. With each having worked in TBTCs for more than a decade, their combined business technology industry experience is over 65 years.
The team has ridden out a number of big transformations to the business, including the switch from TBC to TBTC in 2019, and the changes brought on by COVID. They were in the midst of it, helping other business navigate a new working landscape by facilitating the rapid implementation of new technology.
Gareth, Varun, Ryan and Paril seek to continue the amazing service provided by Gary and Tony, and since they’re mirroring the previous ownership structure of jointly owning both TBTCs, you can expect a smooth transition.
Gareth’s Story with TBTC
Gareth has been with the company for 11 years, and was the General Manager of TBC Frankston prior to it merging with TBC Dandenong to become TBTC Melbourne South. He is a longstanding shareholder of both TBTCs, with 20 years of industry experience. His current position is Director of Operations at TBTC Victoria East and Melbourne South where he handles day-to day operations, including compliance, marketing, and training.
Varun’s Story with TBTC
Prior to becoming a joint owner, Varun had been with the organisation for 15 years, and was an existing shareholder. His is currently General Manager of Sales at TBTC Melbourne South, and the Director of Sales across both TBTCs. In these positions, he stays across the latest business technology solutions for our clients by liaising with the business’ key technology partners.
Ryan’s Story with TBTC
Ryan had 15 years of experience and existing shares with the company before becoming an owner. He is the Director and Licensee of TBTC Victoria East, where he handles the strategic direction, and makes sure the business is delivering best-in-class technology solutions to local businesses.
Paril’s Story with TBTC
After 15 years with Melbourne South, Paril is now the Licensee and Strategic Director of the TBTC. Pre-dating his joint ownership, he was an existing shareholder and Director on both TBTC’s Board of Directors. Today, he helps ensure TBTC Melbourne South delivers top quality technology solutions to local businesses by guiding the strategic direction.
